Savannah Chrisley Says Her Much Older Fiancé Doesn’t ‘Act His Age’ & People Are Going to Have Thoughts About That

When publicly announcing her engagement and pregnancy for the first time, Savannah Chrisley insisted that the “huge” age gap between her and her fiancé doesn’t really bother her. However, she suspected that some people would be bothered by it—which is admittedly part of the reason why she kept her romance a secret for some time.

Because, yes, Savannah, 29, really did keep all the details of her relationship a secret for over a year. Multiple outlets have reported that she is engaged to Jason Galanis, who is 27 years older than she is (he was also previously convicted of fraud). Why, exactly, does the significant age gap not bother Savannah? She says Jason doesn’t “act his age,” which, according to her, is a good thing?

Savannah explained that she knew naysayers would be skeptical of the relationship.

But she’s in love, and clearly ready to share the news with the world. On October 27, she opened up about her secret relationship on her podcast and also took to Instagram to announce that she and her fiancé are expecting a child together.

“There is a huge age gap there,” she said on her Unlocked podcast. She added that the age gap made her hesitant to share the details of her relationship with the public because people can be “brutal.”

At the end of the day, though, she’s not worried about their age difference. “The age difference—so what?” she said. “I don’t care. He does not look his age, nor does he act his age. His body is great. His mind is even sharper.”

Online, people joked that they could understand why she kept his identity a secret.

The age gap, of course, is a factor. Some people on social media have pointed out that Savannah’s dad, Todd Chrisley, is 57 years old, making him only a year older than her fiancé. “Barffffff,” someone wrote on Reddit. “Dude is TWENTY SEVEN years older than her.” People haven’t been persuaded by Savannah’s arguments that he “does not look his age” or “act his age.”

“he looks old enough to be her dad,” another person commented.

And although the age gap was enough to make people question why Savannah chose to be with this man, a lot of other people were more concerned about his criminal record.

“What is amazing is that Savannah found a bigger criminal than her father to marry!” a third critic wrote. And someone else said, “The real problem is she is marrying a fraudster who appears to have no money.”

“Now I see why she didn’t want anyone knowing who he was,” a fourth critic concluded.

But Savannah is clearly smitten, even if other people don’t think her fiancé is a catch.

She called Jason her “best friend” and said they “do everything together” and “have so many dreams” for the future. So, their age gap doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things.

“It’s just such an amazing, fulfilling feeling to finally find your person,” she said. “And I’m there. So yes, the age difference. So what?”

She continued to defend the relationship by saying that her fiancé is “the love of (her) life.” According to Savannah, previous relationships taught her a lot about what she needs and deserves—and now she’s found that.

“It made all the heartbreak that I’ve gone through worth it,” she said. “And all the heartbreak taught me something. It taught me what I want, what I don’t want, what I should accept, what I shouldn’t accept.”
