Millie Bobby Brown’s Life Away From Hollywood Is Nothing Like Fans Might Expect

Something that might surprise you about actress Millie Bobby Brown is that she has chosen to live on a farm in rural Georgia. But for her, it’s not about the rural “aesthetic” or the desire to live a “peaceful” life. Instead, her love for animals has played a significant role. And in case anyone was confused, she clarified that her way of life is definitely not “peaceful” when speaking to Vanity Fair. It’s actually pretty chaotic—and she enjoys that.

Previously, Millie revealed that she had 62 pets: 25 farm animals, 23 foster dogs, 10 personal dogs inside her home, and four personal cats. While some fans are skeptical about having so many pets, she clearly loves animals. And others have argued that she’s using her privilege for good. She even has her own animal rescue organization called Joey’s Friends.

Some critics have assumed that Millie is not that directly involved in caring for all these animals, but her comments suggest otherwise.

During her previous interview with Vanity Fair, Millie, 22, revealed that she took some veterinary studies courses in order to learn more about caring for animals. “I’m able to treat wounds, take their pulse, moderate blood pressure, things like that,” she told Vanity Fair. “Now I just have to do my externship, which is like sitting in on surgeries and things like that.”

She also pushed back on the idea that she’s embracing some sort of “trad wife” or “slow living” aesthetic without being directly involved in caring for the animals on her farm. “If you’re not picking up horse s— or washing a cow with your bare hands, then that life is not made for you,” she told the publication. “At all.”

She clarified that her farm life is anything but peaceful.

Presumably, it’s dramatically different from her life in Hollywood. But it’s still chaotic in its own way. She told Vanity Fair that people would probably assume that living in the countryside with her animals would be “peaceful,” but that’s not how she would describe it.

“There’s so much chaos,” she said. “My animals are loud, and it’s messy and my dogs are crazy. And there is, you know, laughter and a lot of passion and excitement, and it it a very vibrant place. There is so much chaos, and that is where I thrive.”

And while it might not seem like the traditional path for an actor, it sounds very in line with Millie’s character. Her The Electric State co-star Chris Pratt said she “had a different rescue animal on set every day.”

Her animal rescue org is dedicated to finding “the perfect forever home for each individual dog.”

And, in the meantime, the rescue program goes beyond providing the rescue dogs with food and shelter. “We shower these resilient beings with the love and attention they may never have experienced before,” the Joey’s Friends website states. “Our team is composed of passionate individuals who understand that rehabilitation is not just about physical healing but also about nurturing the emotional well-being of each animal under our care.”

The organization focuses on caring and advocating for rescue dogs who “have faced the harsh realities of abuse, neglect, or the imminent threat of euthanasia in crowded shelters.”

The goal is to “create a world where no animal is left to suffer alone, where love triumphs over cruelty, and where each dog finds its place in a home that cherishes and understands the profound bond between human and canine.”

It’s clear Millie is super passionate about this cause, and it sounds like moving to a farm in Georgia has let her pursue another role she really loves.
