Freebies really are wasted on the rich. How often do we hear about a brand giving a celebrity something for free simply because the A-lister can promote it by wearing it or using it? Or those Oscar swag bags that stars get? So when Paris Hilton and her team were accused of trying to get something for nothing from a small scale dress designer, the people weren’t having it.
And by people, I mean the people on social media who got wind of the alleged incident. The dress designer, Alexandra Louise, posted on TikTok about Paris’s team contacting her about borrowing one of her gowns for free. But Alexandra didn’t think it was very “hot” of Paris to seemingly make that demand, and then Reddit got hold of the incident between the hotel heiress and dress designer.
Paris Hilton was accused of asking to borrow a small dress designer’s gown for free.

According to Alexandra, someone who works for Paris originally reached out to her. They wrote in an email that they work for the individual tasked with styling Paris for a Halloween photoshoot. They asked Alexandra in the email if a specific dress could be “loaned” to Paris for the photoshoot.
Alexandra denied the request but offered to commission a one-of-a-kind gown for Paris. She didn’t get a response. Weeks later, another individual emailed Alexandra with the same request but for a different dress from Alexandra’s collection. After she responded once again offering to allow them to place an order, they didn’t respond.
Alexandra’s logic was that Paris has well over enough money to purchase a dress herself. Facts. She also thought it might be a big scam from someone who was not linked to Paris in any way. Then, she saw the Halloween photos Paris posted on Instagram.
“Imagine my surprise when I start seeing all of these TikToks about this Paris Hilton photoshoot and how she made herself Belle and she made her kids Chip and Lumier and I thought, ‘oh my gosh I got asked to send her a Belle ball gown, like that was legit,’ and the people tagged in this post some of them are the people that were emailing me,” she says in her TikTok about the situation. “What is weird to me is that as far as I can tell nobody was given credit for whoever made this dress which means I probably would not have been given credit if I had sent the dress. It’s weird to me also that Paris Hilton, one of the most famous and rich people literally in the world, cannot afford to pay an artist to make a dress for a photoshoot. They have to get loaned out. Like, that is so cheap and you cannot even give credit.”
She was called out as cheap despite being a billionaire.
Paris was called out on Reddit by users who were pretty shook about Alexandra’s side of things. Paris didn’t come out to say anything about anyone linked to her contacting Alexandra or what actually went down, short of what Alexandra explains in her TikTok. But people had thoughts nonetheless.
“There’s no one more stingy than f–king billionaires,” one person wrote in the comments.
Another agreed, “Rich people are the cheapest people and that goes for the lower tier riches too!”
“Isn’t she a billionaire?’ Another person commented. “Didn’t she do multiple rounds of egg retrievals to make sure she had a girl embryo? This is where she draws the line to be frugal.”
A user also shared a photo of Alexandra’s Belle dress in question which was requested in the first email sent to her. They added with the photo, “The dress maker’s Belle dress is only $1,000 and Paris is worth hundreds of millions.”
Paris Hilton was criticized for being the “main character” in her Halloween costume.
Not only was Paris in the wrong, allegedly and according to some users on social media, for the dress debacle, but she was also criticized for her character choice with her many Halloween costumes. In her Beauty and the Beast post, she is Belle, while her kids are dressed as more minor characters.
In another post, Paris is dressed as Rapunzel, while her son is the chameleon, Pascal, who is also featured in the Disney movie. Some see this as Paris taking center stage in an icky way. Apparently, she has a lot to answer for.
