Kourtney Kardashian Is Getting Dragged For Still Breastfeeding Her 2-Year-Old Son Rocky

Kourtney Kardashian’s approaches to parenting have raised eyebrows quite a few times. Now, critics are talking about her decision to continue breastfeeding her son Rocky, whom she welcomed in November 2023. Given that he just recently celebrated his third birthday, fans of The Kardashians were surprised to see Kourtney breastfeeding Rocky on the show.

To be fair, the latest season of the show was clearly filmed before it came out last month. Still, Rocky was presumably two years old at the time.

So, fans had a lot to say about this.

“She’s going to breastfeed until he’s 5,” one critic wrote on Reddit. Others said they were not really bothered by the fact that Kourtney was still breastfeeing, but they were bothered by the way in which she spoke about it. “She’ll do it just so she can say she’s doing it,” another critic commented. “As a BF mom it’s soooo annoying. We get it girl.”

“It’s not that she’s doing it… it’s that she cannot stop talking about it. It’s insane behavior,” someone else said.

But others actually kind of love that she’s talking about it.

Even if she talks about it a lot, it’s definitely not the worst thing she could use her platform for. “I kinda think it’s cool that she is normalizing long term BFing with her platform as society doesn’t tend to be as kind to toddler moms who choose to breastfeed still (even though it’s recommended until the age of 2 or older by the CDC),” someone wrote in Kourtney’s defense.

“Honestly I find a celeb talking about breastfeeding even if some people find it excessive a good use of their platform,” another person agreed. “women are shamed for it especially those who choose to do extended breastfeeding.”

Others argued that it’s not really anyone else’s business anyway, even though Kourtney exists in the public eye. “I’m not the biggest kourtney fan, but even if she was still breastfeeding that is entirely up to her and rocky,” someone else wrote.

Kourtney previously revealed that doctors said she probably wouldn’t be able to breastfeed Rocky.

Last year, she took to Instagram to celebrate 21 months of breastfeeding her son during World Breastfeeding Week. “I told my baby we would breastfeed when he was in my tummy every day after doctors told me he probably wouldn’t be able to breastfeed,” Kourtney wrote at the time, per E! News.

“I prayed about it and never believed it,” she continued. “Blessed and grateful for this beautiful life and experience together with my baby. 21 months and going strong.”

Some fans pointed out that Kourtney’s love for breastfeeding is nothing new. In 2011, she spoke to E! News about how people in her life tried to get her to stop breastfeeding her son Mason before she was ready to do so. “I mean, everyone would say, ‘It’s time, it’s time, come on,'” she said at the time. “I started to stop a little bit, weaning and all that, and I’m like, ‘Why am I doing this? If I’m happy and he’s happy.’ So, I said, ‘Let me see when he asks me for it… I’m like, I just want to do what he wants.'”

Rocky celebrated his third birthday on November 1. Kourtney took to her Instagram Stories to share a photo of his birthday cake, which was surrounded by plushies wearing green party hats. There were some other toys, such as Monsters Inc. figurines, on the table as well.
