The second half of season 10 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills appears to be filled with steamy rumors. A teaser for upcoming episodes puts rumors regarding Brandi Glanville and Denise Richards front and center.
In January, news circulated that Denise had stopped filming RHOBH and was feuding with her fellow cast members. The feud came after a cast trip to Rome. Denise was reportedly confronted about rumors that she and husband Aaron Phypers have an open marriage. That news came from Brandi, who details having a sexual encounter with Denise.
The teaser is jam-packed with drama after Denise seems to become completely outraged at the accusation. She is seen crying and telling Bravo not to air certain footage. She mentions how bad it could be for her and says she wouldn't work with the network if they did. At the time that some of this information had leaked, Denise's reps denied the affair. Now we'll see what both sides of the story look like.
In January, Daily Mail shared insider reports detailing "a months-long affair" between Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Denise Richards and Brandi Glanville.
According to its sources, Denise told Brandi that she and husband Aaron Phypers had an open marriage and he wouldn't mind them fooling around. Brandi believed Denise and thought she was open about it, so she revealed their fling to fellow housewives.
It eventually came to light that Denise and Aaron didn't have an open marriage. Brandi was allegedly upset to be put in the middle of a situation she was trying to avoid. She seemed frustrated that Denise was trying to change the story, especially when it was her fault things turned out so badly.
Denise was reportedly upset that she got caught. It's unclear what the fallout between Denise and Aaron was, but the upcoming half of season 10 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will show what happens among the housewives.
Denise was confronted with the information by other housewives on a November trip to Rome while cameras were rolling. Denise had a tremendously bad reaction. She reportedly walked out of the show, telling Bravo it couldn’t use certain footage. Denise denied the rumor to the other housewives and fretted about what it could do to her marriage.
Brandi and Denise ended up feuding after Denise denied the affair. Brandi seems to reference it in a tweet back in December. "If you sign up for a reality show any & all skeletons you have in the closet WILL come out eventually you can't have secrets & expect to keep them EVER !!! so it's just best to be honest #own it," she tweeted.
In an appearance filmed around that time on E!'s Just the Sip, Brandi made a comment that also may have referenced the unfolding situation.
"There's somebody on the show and she's not being herself. She's faking it and she has some skeletons in the closet and guess what? They're out. I brought them out. Don't call me a liar because I will ruin your life."
In January, the story started to come out after reports that Denise refused to film surfaced. It seemed she skipped out on costar Teddi Mellencamp's baby shower.
"The cast of the show had just filmed a big cast party at Dorit and PK's new home that they allegedly own, and afterward headed to Kathy and Rick's party," a source told Daily Mail.
"Denise was a no show at either and that's when all of Beverly Hills found out. It's extraordinary that it's been kept a secret for this long."
A rep for Denise denied the affair. A source close to her provided explanations for why she was a no-show at the events to People magazine.
"Denise didn't go to Teddi's baby shower, because she was sick,” the insider explains. "And then she chose not to go to the last party [filmed for the show], because she had already addressed the Brandi drama and she knew it was going to be brought back up again. She had no desire to be a part of that."
The teaser for RHOBH shows the moment when Brandi informs the other housewives of the alleged affair.
"I [expletive] her, woke up the next morning, she said, 'Aaron can never know this. He'll kill me,'" she says.
Teddi, along with Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, Lisa Rinna, and Erika Girardi are all shocked by the news.
It then jumps to the women confronting Denise. "What the [expletive]?" she says tearfully. "That is not true."
"I believe Denise," Dorit later tells the other women.
The trailer also shows the women trying to get in touch with Denise at various events they expect her to be at.
In one scene, Dorit gets frantic while trying to call Denise. "I hope to God she's OK. My heart is racing. I'm really, really scared," she says.
Later on, Garcelle Beauvais points out Lisa's role in the situation. "Lisa Rinna, you are the bad guy in this movie," she says.
It then cuts to Denise pleading with crews not to air the footage of the rumor.
"Bravo has a choice. If they ever want me to be on the show … they need to cut that," she says, walking away from the cameras up a staircase.
It ends with Lisa and Denise sitting down at a meal. "I think it's a lesson learned," Lisa says.
"Oh, I learned a lesson," Denise answers.
Brandi, for her part, seems to have addressed the situation again in an Instagram post from about two weeks ago.
"Someone sent this to me & with all the she said she said I cannot [expletive] wait for the truth to come out," she captioned the image, which shows her and Denise and says "Wild Things of Beverly Hills." "I went swimming with the wrong shark."
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
