People Are Lining Up Just To Get Into This Hello Kitty-Themed Restaurant

People are lining up to get to the Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine restaurant in Hong Kong.

Though there are Hello Kitty-themed restaurants all around the world, none of them serve Chinese food.

"Hello Kitty is more popular in Hong Kong than in [her native] Japan,” restaurant owner Man Kwong told TIME.

The menu consists of 37 items, each approved by Sanrio, the company that designed Hello Kitty. The dishes are made of farm fresh and organic ingredients. Some of them, like the popular buns, take 17 steps to make.

Half of the menu is made in the likeness of the famous kitten. Although there's nothing new about food art, just take a look at these celebrity themed food art Instagrams.

Hello Kitty is a $7-billion franchise and constantly growing. Patrons can't seem to get enough of the unique dining experience.

But what about those of us outside of Hong Kong?

Well, here'a few simple tips on getting there on the cheap. It all starts with visiting Kayak.com, a site known for it's cheaper than average flights. Click into the Price Alerts section, enter your destination and when you want to go. You'll be alerted when the real, and often secret, savings occur — and we all know those moments are brief!
