It's been a while since there were dating rumors surrounding a member of the Kardashian family. Between being at home for the past few months and the existing relationship roller coasters that are Khloé and Tristan and Kim and Kanye, there's just been other stuff going on. Sure, Kendall's probably dating an athletic, age-appropriate guy somewhere, but she keeps that to herself most of the time.
The recent rumors target Kourtney Kardashian. They aren't your run-of-the-mill Scott Disick reunion rumors, either. Over the weekend, multiple sources began reporting that Kourtney has been seen out and about with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.
Now, for seasoned Kardashian fans, this rumor was pretty easy to ignore. Kourtney and Travis have been linked before, but the truth was much simpler. The two met when Khloé moved onto the same street where Travis lived with ex-wife Shanna Moakler and their three kids. Years later, Travis and Kourtney ended up living on the same street. Their kids are friends, and occasionally they all hang out. It has come up several times and has always disappeared just as quickly.
The whisperings may mean something more this time, however. Sources close to Kourtney and Travis are confirming the two are an item, according to multiple outlets.
There have been a few occasions over the years where romance rumors swirled around longtime friends and neighbors Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker. Now it seems there is actually something between the two. Several outlets are reporting that the two are an item.
"It's fairly new," a source told E! News, saying things between the two took a romantic turn in December.
"It's been very low-key," the source continued.
"They are a really good match, and Kourtney's entire family already loves Travis. They have been neighbors and great friends for years, and it just recently turned romantic."
Kourtney and Travis have had a good friendship for a long time. She finds his attentiveness to his three kids, 21-year-old stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya, 17-year-old son Landon, and 15-year-old daughter Alabama. Travis, for his part, has been interested in Kourtney for some time.
"Travis has always had an eye for Kourtney," the insider shares.
"The chemistry and flirtation has always been there. They have a lot in common, and Kourtney has always been attracted to how Travis is as a parent. He's an amazing, hands-on dad, and Kourtney loves that about him. They love relaxing at home with their kids, and everyone gets along. It's going well, and they aren't putting pressure on it being super serious at this point."
Travis and ex-wife Shanna actually appear on some of the earlier seasons of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Just over a year ago, he addressed the occasional dating rumors around him and Kourtney in a conversation with People.
"Kourtney's like a dear friend. That's it," he said.
"I mean, I love her to death. I love her family to death. But yeah, just friends."
Travis has some other interesting connections to the Kardashian universe. In 2015, he admitted he had a crush on Kim when he was dating her bestie, Paris Hilton. He said he hung out with her a bit, but things always stayed platonic.
A business-minded Kim picked his brain on reality TV. At the time, she was just considering KUWTK, while Travis was a seasoned reality pro with Meet the Barkers.
"Kim was like, 'I really want to do this reality show. We’re supposed to do it with Ryan Seacrest. I just think my family’s interesting,'" he recalled in an interview with Us Weekly in 2018.
"I gave her the best advice I could but I still remember the conversation like yesterday: 'I think my family is interesting and it could be something.' Well, you were absolutely right!"
Travis also shares another link to the Kardashians. Travis was romantically linked to Rita Ora back in 2015. It was just about three years after Rita's ugly situationship with Rob Kardashian, which resulted in several Twitter meltdowns on Rob's part. Things with Travis didn't go much better, and it was over in a matter of weeks.
