Consumer Alert! Bottled Water Recalled After Possible E. Coli Contamination

Wegmans is recalling some of its bottled water that may contain E. coli.

The retailer announced this weekend that it is recalling some of its 16.9 ounce bottles of Wegmans Food You Feel Good About Spring Water, with Niagara Bottling LLC on the label.

Only product with code dates a certain range — between the "best by" dates of June 10, 2016 and June 18, 2016 — are part of the recall.

And only the following products are included in the recall:

Wegmans FYFGA Spring Water, 16.9 oz UPC 7789018860
Wegmans FYFGA Spring Water, 16.9 oz, 12-pack UPC 7789010085
Wegmans FYFGA Spring Water, 16.9 oz, 24-pack UPC 7789028768
Wegmans FYFGA Spring Water, 16.9 oz, 35-pack UPC 7789029365

According to Wegmans' recall message to consumers: "No other sizes or code dates of Wegmans bottled water are affected by this recall. This bottled water is treated with a continuous ozonation process, a proven kill step for E.coli. The recall was issued out of an abundance of caution."

There have been no reports of any illness associated with the products.

Any products that fall within the size and date range can be returned for a full refund. For questions, call Wegmans Consumer Affairs at (855) 934-3663. Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, toll free.
