Unsealed documents from a 2016 deposition for a civil suit between accuser Virginia Giuffre and alleged perpetrator Ghislaine Maxwell have provided insights into many areas. Some of those insights came from the manuscript of Giuffre's unpublished book The Billionaire Playboy's Club.
In the manuscript, Giuffre details some of her alleged experiences with Jeffrey Epstein's good friend, Prince Andrew. Giuffre has been consistent in her accusations against him, but many of the more salacious details were unknown prior to the release of these documents. In the manuscript, Giuffre delves into the Duke of York's supposed foot fetish.
Everyone in Prince Andrew's camp has consistently denied accusations. What cannot be denied, however, is the idea of Prince Andrew having a foot fetish. Furthermore, his inclination for feet is something he seems to have shared with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
Prince Andrew's uncomfortable history with foot fetishes has been brought to light in an unusual way. Last year, a judge ruled that documents in a 2016 civil suit between Jeffrey Epstein survivor Virginia Giuffre and Epstein's alleged accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, be unsealed. Among those documents was the complete, unpublished manuscript of a book Giuffre wrote called The Billionaire Playboy's Club.
In the manuscript, Giuffre gets into details of the abuse she alleges occurred by Prince Andrew. Among those details, there is a lot that has to do with feet. She wrote that the Duke of York "was adorning my young body, particularly my feet, caressing my toes and licking my arches."
She was thankful that he didn't ask her to return the favor. "I drew a line with extreme fetishes, especially ones that would involve my tongue and feet in the same sentence," she wrote.
Giuffre shared her experience with Jeffrey upon returning from the trip, and he was amused at the duke's inclination.
"I did have a laugh with Jeffrey about the Prince's weird fixation on my feet and let's just say that he was quite tickled with Andrew's quirky obsession, having a good ol' chuckle at my eccentric encounter."
Is it an odd thing to know about a member of the royal family? Absolutely. What's perhaps weirder is that this isn't the first time that Andrew and a matter of feet came to the public's attention. In fact, one can argue that we know who Andrew shared that fetish with, regardless of who it started with.
Andrew and then-wife Sarah Ferguson were legally separated when a 1992 photo scandal put the final nail in the coffin of their marriage. Sarah was photographed in St. Tropez with her financial advisor, John Bryan. Not only was the Duchess of York sunbathing topless around a man who was not her estranged husband, but he was later photographed kissing and sucking on her toes. A then 4-year-old Princess Beatrice played nearby in a pool.
The royal family was obviously mortified by the photo. It was at that point that the Queen strongly advised the couple it was time to divorce. It would take a long time for Sarah to work her way back into the royals' good graces. In fact, some members reportedly still hold a grudge against her.
Despite all of that, Andrew never seemed to hold a grudge. In fact, the former couple has been cited as the best of friends many times in the years since. They even live together at Royal Lodge, though they never rekindled their romantic relationship to anyone's knowledge.
As more has become known about Andrew's supposedly raucous sex life, the belief has been floated that he and Sarah enjoy an open relationship. This, like many other allegations, has been denied by those close to the royals. A recent interview by Sarah, which seemed like an innocuous plug of her plastic surgeon at first sight, may provide a clue that there's more between the two, whether it's casual or serious.
During the October 2019 interview, Sarah talked about treatments she's had done to her feet. The article noted that Sarah had been wearing flats for some time because of supposed foot pain. She also mentioned that the procedure makes her feet look better, as she happily showed the Daily Mail reporter.
"I went to the Bahamas in March to have the treatment," she revealed.
"‘I think my toes were ruined by all the riding I did when I was young. They shaved the bone here [by her big toe], and implanted stem cells — 20 million of them taken from my midriff — into my feet to make new cartilage. It takes about six months to heal but now I can walk in heels!"
If this isn't strange enough, another foot-related story regarding Andrew has also come to light. A couple who previously worked on Jeffrey's private island, where Andrew was allegedly a frequent visitor, shared a story with The Sun.
The two said that Andrew and a blond visitor who looked to be in her 30s were enjoying water sports. When they returned, Andrew shared that she had stepped on a sea urchin, so he "urinated on her foot as a remedy." He went on to joke that "the royal member has done its duty."
It could be nothing, and it probably would be regarded as such if not for their shared history with the subject matter. It's just another way in which Andrew and Sarah have managed to be enigmatic while living in the very public eye. As things continue to escalate around Ghislaine Maxwell, there's no telling what we'll learn about Andrew next.
