Remember that adorable little girl accompanied by her cousin who stole the internet’s hearts singing and rapping to Super Bass by Nicki Minaj? She is all grown up and recently announced she is expecting her first child.
Sophia Grace rose to internet fame in 2011 at the age of 8. She appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show dozens of times. On October 22, 2022, she appeared on her YouTube channel to announce she is 21 weeks pregnant. Mother and baby are doing well. Sophia is excited to be a mother.
Sophia Grace acknowledges this news might come as a surprise to many of her viewers. She starts out by stating: "Hi everyone. Welcome back to my channel. So, as you can see, from today's video, it is a little bit different from my usual videos because I am here to tell you guys that I am pregnant!"
Sophia, surrounded by pink and blue balloons, goes on to say: "I'm sure a lot of you gonna be very shocked because it probably was quite unexpected but I was very shocked when I first found out. I've got used to it now and I'm super, super happy about it."
Sophia knows her life and content are about to be forever changed.
“I can't wait to share this journey with you guys and definitely have lots of different content from what I usually have," she explained. "I guess my channel might turn into something new. So I'm super excited and I just thought I would let you guys and know in today's video talk about it a little bit."
Sophia went on to share details about her pregnancy journey so far. She revealed: "So, currently I am 21 weeks. I just turned 21 weeks today.” This means the baby “is currently the size of a banana.”
She showed her baby bump to the camera. “At the moment, it is sort of sticking out a little bit, definitely more than it usually does," she gushed. "It's kind of swollen a little bit. So this is what I look like at five months."
At eight weeks, Sophia did an at-home early baby gender test. She did not reveal the results but talked about the process. She said she was nervous at first doing the test but ultimately she did it because the experience was "really really exciting" and "so fun."
Sophia spoke about her 12-week ultrasound. She even shared a sonogram picture. “I was quite nervous for this scan because as you know some of these scans can show problems with the baby but luckily mine went all good, so thank God for that," she said.
At 17 weeks, she heard her baby’s heartbeat for the first time. She spoke about the experience: “[That] was really cool because I didn't actually get to hear it in the 12-week scan. I just got to see it but I didn't actually get to hear it so got to hear it first time at 17 weeks. That was literally so cool because it's, like, mad to think there’s literally another life inside of you."
Sophia shared her experiences with morning sickness. “At the start of the pregnancy, I felt very, very sick for a long time," she explained. "It still comes back sometimes now it is really, really disgusting and it literally ruins your whole day and I do not know why they call it morning sickness because it lasted all day for me, all day long.”
Sophia’s cousin and partner in crime, cousin Rosie, is so excited for her. She posted on her Instagram stories: "Together forever, words can't explain this feeling! So excited for this next chapter, here for you, will buy milk, babysit but I don't think I change a nappy just yet love you so much ."
Sophia concluded by telling her followers she would post a new video every Saturday. She asked her viewers to "only comment nice things because we need lots of positivity.” Haters will not be tolerated as Sophia stated directly "negative comments will be deleted."
Even though Sophia Grace laid down the law about the comment section, she understands why people might be judgy about her pregnancy.
“I feel like 19 is quite young, obviously, to have a baby," She told E! News. "Usually most people are like, ‘You should have babies when you’re 30 and you’re married and you live in your own house,’ which is completely fine. But obviously everyone’s gonna have their different opinions.”
“I just feel it’s about the person themselves. And as long as you feel ready and it’s something that you’re happy about, then it’s really no one else’s problem,” she added. Sophia Grace is ready for this exciting new chapter in her life.
