In A Bid To ‘Please’ Husband & Save Marriage, Woman Gets Disastrous Gastric Bypass Surgery

In a segment on the Dr. Phil show, a woman named Samantha details the traumatic aftermath of gastric bypass surgery that she went through to try to save her marriage.

“I wanted the gastric bypass to lose the weight to please my husband,” Samantha admits. She says she made the decision after she gained a substantial amount of weight over a number of years after discovering that her husband, Josh, had had an affair.

Josh claims that the bypass surgery was entirely Samantha’s idea.

Samantha found a clinic in Tijuana, Mexico, to have the surgery, but leading up to it she found herself experiencing massive amounts of anxiety and even blacking out prior to the procedure.

She claims that she voiced her concerns to Josh, telling him that she didn’t feel good about getting the surgery and that she wanted to leave, but she ended up going through with it when he didn’t escort her from the hospital.

“I regret this weight loss surgery a million times over,” Samantha explains. She feels as though the procedure ended up taking place against her will.

After her gastric bypass surgery, she was left with numbness and pain around the stomach area, scarring, and a completely altered and minimal eating routine.

Samantha notes that the only foods that she can eat in small quantities without getting sick are meats and cheeses, even though the doctor in Mexico directed her to follow a strict plant-based diet.

In an at-home segment, Samantha tries to articulate to her young daughter that she needs to really focus while she’s trying to eat and chew; otherwise, her eating and digestion will not go smoothly.
