A Public Memorial For Lisa Marie Presley Will Be Held, Fittingly, At Graceland

As the world continues to mourn the tragic death of Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis Presley, plans are being made for the singer's funeral.

A public memorial will be held, fittingly, at Graceland.

Lisa Marie died last week after going into cardiac arrest. She was just 54.

According to a statement on Graceland's website, the memorial will be open to the public. It will take place on January 22 at 9 a.m. on the front lawn of the mansion.

It makes sense for Lisa Marie's memorial to take place at Graceland. Not only is it where she grew up, after her father purchased the estate in 1957, but it was held in trust for her until her 25th birthday.

“In lieu of flowers, the family encourages all who wish to send something to do so in the form of a donation to The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation,” the Graceland site now reads. The foundation supports education and the arts for Memphis-area kids.
