Darius McCrary, who is best known for playing Eddie Winslow on the popular 1990s sitcom Family Matters, is dealing with some serious relationship matters of his own.
The actor, now 46, has filed a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend. He claims she is “terrorizing” him and even threatening his dog.
This is not the first time the star has attempted to take action against his ex. He originally filed an order of protection back in August 2022, but it was not approved because he did not show up to the court hearing. He later said that this was due to his being “displaced at the time, and had to flee from my ex,” according to the Daily Mail.
More than a year later, he is back in court once again with the same request for protection.
The Blast obtained court documents that show that McCrary claims he was “emotionally traumatized, and cannot focus on work or day to day for fear.”
The petition submitted to the court also claims that McCrary’s ex threatened to steal his dog.
The list of accusations goes on. He alleges that his ex took over his home, which he said was turned into a “drug den.”
"She turned our then home into a drug den, she agreed to leave the country to attend rehab," the actor claims, according to Radar Online.
"She has returned and is now calling and sending threats," he alleges. "She has taken my possessions and placed them in storage and refuses to return them. She continues to be mentally abusive."
The final straw, he says, was when he thought his beloved dog’s life was in danger.
"She threatened to have her friends come take my dog and if I don’t pay her," he says. "She has keys to my vehicle."
He additionally claims that his ex is in possession of valuable items that belong to him.
"She will not return my personal items and is attempting to extort me," McCrary continues.
"I am afraid she will cause further damage. She continues to call me a punk," he says, along with other terms she has called him. “And is slandering my name in several professional circles of the entertainment industry," he adds.
McCrary, who has been in the industry for decades, says that he fears he will "end up like Phil Hartman."
Hartman was a famous comedian and Saturday Night Live cast member who was killed by his wife in a murder-suicide in 1998.
