Love it or hate it, society expresses itself through social media. Our social channels are an extension of ourselves and our brands. One possibly brokenhearted celebrity used social media this weekend to express herself and has fans speculating on the deeper meaning behind her posts.
Megan Fox posted a series of thirst-trap photos of herself and a video of her burning an envelope. She captioned it with song lyrics from Beyoncé’s album Lemonade, writing, "You can taste the dishonesty/ it's all over your breath." This has caused the internet to go into a frenzy and many to speculate that she and fiancé Machine Gun Kelly have split.
Before Megan deleted her Instagram account, People magazine reported that one user suggested MGK had been unfaithful.
“He probably got with Sophie,” the user said.
"Maybe I got with Sophie," Megan responded.
Megan and MGK were together on Friday night. They attended a party hosted by Drake. Megan was not present at the Sports Illustrated Super Bowl Party on Saturday night. This could be a clue that something is amiss, because MGK performed at it.
There are other clues that also point to trouble in paradise. Before Megan deleted her entire account, she deleted all photos with MGK. This included the one announcing their engagement in January 2022.
Megan also followed Eminem. MGK and Eminem have a longstanding public feud. This move was definitely meant to send a message.
Megan and MGK first met in 2020 on the set of the indie thriller Midnight in the Switchgrass. Production on the film was quickly halted because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but Megan and MGK continued to spend time together. Speculation that the pair were a couple grew when Megan's then-husband, Brian Austin Green, confirmed that he and Megan had broken up.
In July of 2020, Megan and MGK confirmed their romantic relationship status. The couple sat down for a joint interview on the podcast Give Them Lala … With Randall. Megan described MGK as her “twin flame.”
Since then, the couple has engaged in some extreme activities together. They drank each other’s blood. MGK proposed in January 2022 with an engagement ring that has thorns inside it. If Megan tries to remove it, she will bleed.
Megan might be facing that issue as we speak. Time will tell what the future brings for this celebrity couple. We can only hope there will be minimal bloodshed regardless of the outcome.
