There are some people out there who truly feel an abundance of joy from being a parent and taking care of others.
This video posted on YouTube by Wonderbot shares the tale of a mom of five who rescued three unhoused children whom she formed a connection with and soon came up with a plan to have them in her life.
Lacey and her husband, Brian, were proud parents of five but found themselves at a bit of a loss when a few of their older children finished high school and went off to college.
One day, Lacey was walking her dog along a quiet beach when she heard a baby crying off in the distance. Curious, she decided to take a closer look to see where the crying was coming from.
She soon found herself standing in front of a broken-down lifeguard hut with two frightened children and a hungry-looking baby nestled nearby.
Lacey asked the boys what they were doing there and where their mother was, and the oldest boy, named Drew, told her that their mom had gone to get them food and hadn’t come back for about a day.

Lacey decided that she needed to call someone to help these kids, but she wanted to get them something to eat first. She took them to a nearby burger joint, and soon the kids were looking a lot more content as they munched down on their food.
When Lacey spoke to social services, she was told that it wasn’t likely that their mother would come back anytime soon, and it would be nearly impossible to place all three boys together in a foster home.
