Rupert Murdoch Calls Off Engagement After Finding Out His Fiancée Is Evangelical Christian

Rupert Murdoch and Ann Lesley Smith have called off their engagement nearly a month after making the announcement.

News that the pair were engaged was first announced by Vanity Fair, and Rupert himself confirmed the news in his own newspaper, the New York Post.

Outlets are reporting the reason the pair split up is that Rupert has grown increasingly uncomfortable with Ann's religious beliefs. Ann has been open about her faith through the Christian Broadcasting Network.

Ann told the outlet, "Things aren’t important to me anymore. What really matters is other people. When you let the Lord take control of your life, you can make it. Out of the ruins you can rise and let the oil of His anointing just be all over you."
