Weddings are often touted as the best day of a person’s life. For one unsuspecting bride, hers certainly made waves. In a now-viral TikTok she and her husband both start jogging to jump into a pool. The groom bails at the last second, leaving his bride swimming in her wedding dress by herself.
Many users on TikTok were appalled by this prank. They collectively agreed it was done in poor taste and could even be an indication of larger problems in the relationship. There was no love for this groom.
The video has been viewed almost 11.4 million times. At the end, the bride’s smile falters, making viewers question what she is thinking. One can only ponder if she laughed this off or started divorce proceedings immediately after drying off.
“That prank was brutal,” stated the video caption. The question, “Why did he do this to her?” was overlaid on the video. It is a valid question.

This was not the best way to get one’s 15 minutes of fame. The social media site was firmly on team bride. One commenter wrote: “Wow. End of marriage.”
Other users agreed wholeheartedly.
“The beginning of the end,” chimed in another user. The comments section was filled with people speculating about the newly married couple’s current relationship status.
Some users believe this prank showed cracks in the relationship.
“If that’s not a metaphor for the rest of their relationship, I don’t know what is,” advised one user.
“That’s not a prank, that’s an immediate annulment,” another user emphatically stated.
This groom should probably have left the pranks to his friends and family. Groomsmen can always be counted on for that. A wedding is supposed to be all about the bride in a positive way only. Let’s hope the happy couple were able to work through their first married challenge.
