Luckiest Goodwill Employee Ever Stumbles Upon $42,000 In Cash Hidden In Donated Sweaters

It's not uncommon for thrift store employees to find, let's say, a $20 bill inside a piece of used clothing.

Nothing like the fortune this staffer found, though …

Andrea Lessing had been working at Goodwill in Norman, Oklahoma, for nearly two months. She quickly began to notice lots of strange and quirky items being donated. But while going through a new pile of donations, she stumbled upon a huge surprise.

While unfolding a pair of old sweaters, Andrea found a stack of wrapped-up papers. At first glance, she though they were books — but when she took a closer look, she realized someone had left a huge wad of cash hidden in the clothing.

$42,000, to be exact!

Andrea was absolutely stunned, and she certainly could have used the money herself. But since she's a firm believer in karma, she quickly reported it.

Using paperwork included with the owner's pile of donations, Goodwill tracked down the owner of the missing cash.

But the story didn't end there — because that owner was about to restore Andrea's faith in humanity, especially during these tough financial times.
