Video Shows Lollapalooza-Goers Get Violent Shock While Taking Selfies On Train Tracks

A viral video making the rounds shows the utterly terrifying moment that Lollapalooza concertgoers were shocked while taking selfies on a train track. Three people that appeared to be part of a larger group can be seen taking a seat on the Chicago L train tracks to take a picture together.

But moments later, they are shocked by 600 volts of electricity when one of them touches the third rail. The incident took place on August 5, 2023, just after 7 p.m. The group of friends were headed to the Lollapalooza music festival.

In the video, two men and a woman are sitting on the tracks. One of the men leans back, and then suddenly goes stiff upon touching the rail. He then reaches out to the woman beside him, who also goes stiff as they are both being electrocuted.

The third person can be seen jumping up from the tracks before he tries to help the other two up. It appears that he sustained a short of shock in this process before people from the larger group jumped in to help.
