Stalker Accosts Drew Barrymore At Event, Then Shows Up At Her Long Island Home

The fan who rushed the stage of an event Drew Barrymore was hosting in Manhattan earlier this week was arrested outside the actresses' house on Long Island, New York, on Wednesday. According to authorities, Chad Michael Busto was busted going door-to-door in her Southampton neighborhood. He was reportedly trying to track down the actress at the time, for reasons that have not yet been made clear. Thankfully, Barrymore was not at her home at the time Busto landed on her doorstep, and he was detained shortly after. His intentions are not yet known.

His arrest comes two days after he rushed the stage during Barrymore's speaking engagement with singer Reneé Rapp. The incident was caught on video, and Busto can be heard screaming Barrymore's name as he approaches the stage.

“You know who I am,” he shouted. "I need to see you at some point while you’re in New York." A bodyguard stepped in and stopped the crazed man from getting on the stage. Rapp ushered Barrymore off the stage and out of view.

Busto has numerous police reports that document offenses for criminal trespass, resisting arrest, indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, theft, harassment, and more in several states. The incidents are as recent as January 2022 and go as far back as June 1999. He also allegedly was obsessed with actress Amber Heard, and banned from an online fan forum after allegations of stalking, sexual harassment, and threats.
