A DoorDash driver was arrested on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, after allegedly stealing packages from porches. Juliana Saggaram, 33, from Queens, New York, was charged with two counts of petit larceny. According to a news release from the Nassau County Police Department, Saggaram really did pick up a food order from Chipotle.
But the police said she used the food "as a cover" and took a package off the porch of a house before leaving the area in an SUV.
Saggaram reportedly did this twice before she was caught. One of the alleged victims noticed that a package had been stolen and reported it to the police. The incident was captured via doorbell camera footage. In the video, the woman can be seen walking up to a house, pretending to place a food delivery order down, and picking up a package instead.
She then casually left the porch and went back to her car, driving off. The incident happened in broad daylight. Saggaram was wearing sunglasses in the video shared by the police department.

The police department reported that the incident happened at about 4:34 p.m. on Sunday, September 3. Another similar incident happened at 5 p.m. on the same day, and Saggaram was reportedly responsible for that incident as well.
