Life was pretty easy for Sam Farmer. His father was one of the richest men in the state, which allowed Sam to really dig his heels in and often feel a sense of entitlement that had allowed him to pretty much skate through life.
Sam’s mother had died when he was just a boy and his self-made millionaire father had tried to compensate for that huge loss by spoiling his son rotten. Sadly, this allowed Sam to become quite lazy and irresponsible. He would spend exorbitant amounts of money on lavish clothes and shoes that he would only wear once and would eat out for nearly every meal.
He often ate lunch at a trendy eatery that was routinely filled with celebrities and socialites, called Maison Umberto.
One day, while he was dining at his favorite lunch spot, Sam was feeling particularly peckish and decided to order most of the menu. He nibbled on a few things, but most of what he ordered remained on the table as he finished up.
Just as he was getting ready to leave, he heard the voice of a young girl come from behind him. Suddenly appearing by his side was a girl who looked to be around 8 years old. She timidly asked Sam if he was going to eat his leftovers.

Sam was surprised, but he told her that she could take what she wanted if she didn’t mind cold food. The young girl looked at Sam in disbelief and told him that it was still good food and promptly took out several plastic bags and filled them with his barely touched leftovers.
