Samantha had been a widow for nearly 10 years. She lived alone in a big house and often didn’t know what to do with herself due to the extreme loneliness.
Even though she was going through a rough season in life, she still did everything she could to stay optimistic and be kind to everyone whose path crossed hers. However, she found that task extremely difficult once her son Charlie disappeared from her life.
After this other huge loss, Samantha continued to toy with the idea of finally leaving her family home because every single corner reminded her of a memory that she had shared with her husband and son.
Another reason that was making her decision to leave her beloved neighborhood that much easier was that a new neighbor had moved in beside Samantha and she loved to throw loud parties that often went into the wee hours of the morning.
One night, a raucous party went on for so long that Samantha decided that she had to go and talk with her neighbor because she was routinely unable to sleep. Only, when she went over to talk to her neighbor, she was met with annoyance as the young woman told Samantha that she wasn’t going to change her behavior anytime soon.

Unfortunately, after Samantha decided to call the police to report the constant noise and partying, a few police officers showed up at her door and basically told her to just deal with it. It turned out that the woman was the daughter of someone high up in the mayor's office and they didn’t want to stir up any trouble.
