Young Girl Dies While At Babysitter’s For The Night, Grieving Mother Warns Other Parents

Sierra Greenlee was a hardworking and caring mother to her 2-year-old daughter, Arya. And even though Arya was a product of love between Sierra and her ex-husband, John, due to unforeseen circumstances, things didn’t work out between the pair.

Just like other single moms, Sierra had to work to provide for her daughter. Arya had been with her father for the week and after a long shift, Sierra went to pick up her little girl from the babysitter’s when she noticed something was off with her.

According to a Facebook post Sierra shared in 2018, as she carried her daughter out to her car after spending the night at her babysitter’s, she noticed that her little girl was completely “knocked out.” When she put her hand on Arya’s chest to check her breathing, she felt “no movement.”

Sierra notes that even though she tried to remain calm during those excruciating moments, she could feel herself losing it. She administered CPR and called EMS, which worked on little Arya for an hour only for them to inform her at the hospital that they tried everything they could but were unable to save her.

In the social media post, Sierra shared that after she had spent a few moments with her daughter’s body, someone from the hospital came in to tell her that they had run some tests and discovered that little Arya was an undiagnosed type 1 diabetic.

In sharing her tragic loss, Sierra hoped to get the word out to other parents about some of the warning signs of diabetes to watch out for, especially in young kids. She urges parents to ask their child’s doctor for a simple blood sugar test to ensure they’re as healthy as they should be and there are no underlying issues.
