Man Returns From Trip With Lesions In Mouth And Fears A Parasite, But Doctors Disagree

A man is turning to The Doctors after being unsure how to handle mysterious symptoms he's been experiencing since returning from a trip to Hawaii.

Aidan started experiencing headaches, nausea, blurred vision, and lesions in his mouth that excrete an unknown substance when he eats. He'd been to several doctors, who are all stumped by his condition. He suspects it may be a parasite or group of parasites, but Dr. Sonia Batra of The Doctors found that wasn't the case.

Dr. Batra did a number of tests on Aidan in addition to reviewing tests he's already had performed. She found all his results to be within normal range for a man his age and with his medical history.

Dr. Batra wasn't able to see some of Aidan's more controversial symptoms, like the lesions or the random filaments growing from underneath his fingernail, because they were not active. This led Dr. Batra to a preliminary diagnosis that's admittedly controversial.

Dr. Batra believes Morgellons disease may be the culprit. The disease is not recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and it's still being studied to catalog symptoms. What does match is the physical sensation of having parasites under the skin. There's also a psychological component that Aidan hasn't been evaluated for at this time.
