On December 6, 2023, Keisha Nash died at age 51. Her death was confirmed by her daughter, True, the following day on Instagram. Keisha was once married to actor Forest Whitaker, with whom she shared two daughters, True, 25, and Sonnet, 27.
TMZ has obtained her official death certificate, which lists her primary cause of death to be alcoholic liver disease. Keisha had been living with the condition for years. Other contributing factors include acute renal failure.
True mourned her mother’s passing in her Instagram stories. She shared a black-and-white photo of her with text overlaid on it. "Goodbye mommy. I love you 4ever and beyond," True wrote. "The most beautiful woman in the world … thank you for teaching me every single thing I know. I'll see you in my dreams and I'll feel you in my heart."
Keisha was cast as Forest’s girlfriend in the 1994 film Blown Away. Art imitated life and sparks flew. The following year, the couple got engaged. They were married in 1996 in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The couple divorced in 2018 after 22 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. Keisha also has another daughter named Autumn, 32, from a previous relationship.

Beyond acting, motherhood, and relationships, Keisha was also a businesswoman. She created Kissable Couture, a high-end makeup line with A.J. Crimson.
"I’ve always been very ambitious,” she explained to O, The Oprah Magazine in 2008. “When my kids were younger, I tried to start a clothing line for children. But you have to be really committed to a new business, and at that time I was more focused on being a mother.”
