Drea de Matteo says joining OnlyFans saved her life, even though she wasn't eager to join the platform at first. The Sopranos actress was going through a lot when she decided to create content for OnlyFans.
She was close to losing her house, had just $10 in her bank account and was struggling to get acting roles due to her refusal to get vaccinated against COVID-19. "At the same time, I lost my mom, and my other mom, who has dementia, had run out of money for her caregiver. I didn't know which way was up," she told the Daily Mail.
She believes OnlyFans saved her.
Drea, 52, revealed that within five minutes of sharing photos on OnlyFans, her home was saved from foreclosure.
"I was like, holy s—. In five minutes, I was able to pay back Compass Real Estate who kept the sale of my house," she told Daily Mail.
Drea said that her kids — Alabama Gypsyrose, 16, and Waylon, 12 — are her priority. She knows that some people might judge her for joining OnlyFans, but said "it saved us."

"Anybody that wants to condemn me and put me down, go for it. I just hope you never find yourself in the position I was in to take care of two little kids," she said when speaking to Daily Mail.
At first, she and her partner, Robby Staebler, wanted to start a podcast on OnlyFans. To "add a little something for OnlyFans in there," she was going to have her partner "rubbing [her] feet."
Though she started posting pictures on the platform, in part, because she felt like she had to in order to make money quickly, she also started to enjoy doing it.
“I figured, ‘OK, so everybody’s in their underwear and being sexy on Instagram and I don’t do that, but I can do that and get paid for it.’ … I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner,” Drea previously told Fox Digital.
She wasn't expecting it to have such a big impact on her life, but it did. She's also not letting the "nasty things" some people have said get to her.
"OnlyFans saved my life, 100%," she told Daily Mail. "I can't believe I'm saying that, but it really did save us."
Some people might not approve of the way she went about trying to take care of her family, she admitted to Fox Digital, but she's OK with that.
"The way we see it in this house is mommy’s a warrior, not accepting defeat," she said.
