Royal expert Christopher Andersen claims that Kate Middleton and Prince Harry have not spoken despite her undergoing a planned abdominal surgery in January. He says that the Princess of Wales is focused on her post-surgery recovery as of now. “I think there was once a relationship, a friendship, a very close one between Harry and Kate,” Christopher shared with Us Weekly on March 6, 2024. “I’m sure he’s concerned about her as well, but I know that she wants to have nothing to do with them.”
The expert continued to state that Kate “has her own problems now” and still “feels betrayed” by Harry just the same as her husband, Prince William, and King Charles do. In 2022, Harry and Megan Markle made allegations against the royal institution since stepping away from royal duties in 2020.
A documentary series titled Harry & Meghan released on Netflix dove into their experience with the royal family. From racism to physical altercations, the couple opened up about it all. However, the accusations drove a wedge in the relationship between Prince Harry and Megan and Prince Williams and Kate.

“That hasn’t changed,” Christopher said about the relationships now being divided. “Every time he’s gone there, he’s been given the cold shoulder and he’s aware of that,” he said in regards to Harry’s visits back to the UK. “I think he fears it’ll just be the same situation all over.”
The expert went on to claim that Harry hasn't reached out to Kate amid her health concerns. “My understanding is he hasn’t, and it is a stalemate,” he said. “They’re both on opposite sides of this wall and nobody has the courage to leap over it and really make an honest attempt.”
On March 6, 2024, another insider claimed that Kate's recovery is still surrounded by “radio silence” in Kensington Palace. However, after her public absence sparked concern and rumors, a representative from the palace issued a statement to reiterate that she would not be returning to her public duties until after Easter.
"We were very clear from the outset that the Princess of Wales was out until after Easter and Kensington Palace would only be providing updates when something was significant," the statement read. “That guidance stands."
Prince William's rep also issued a statement amid the conspiracy theories surrounding Kate's health: "His focus is on his work and not on social media." Apparent sources close to Kate also shared that she "has not ruled out one day speaking about what she has been through, but for now, her focus is on getting better and getting back to work when she is ready."
A photo of Kate was recently taken of her in a car with her mom, Carole Middleton. According to the Daily Mail, "the pictures were published by US gossip website TMZ but not in the UK after Kensington Palace appealed for her to be able to recuperate in private. Kensington Palace did not comment tonight but sources stressed these were paparazzi pictures that were not authorised by the palace."
