What's the furthest you've traveled for a date? What about for a first date? One woman certainly put in the time and dedication to travel from London to San Francisco.
Kayleigh Castle, 35, flew 5,000 miles for what she believed was a promising first date, only to find out that the experience with the man wasn't all that she hoped it would be. The professional life coach was initially approached by the guy (who remains anonymous) at a bar in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where they both were on vacation.
After their first time meeting, Kayleigh started messaging him and they got to know each other a little. He eventually extended an invitation for her to fly out to San Francisco, where he lives and works. And the upside is, he paid for the full 10 days.
“He booked my flights, asked what I wanted to do — we went wine tasting, we went on a nice coastal drive — and then I came back home,” she explained. But upon getting to San Francisco and exploring the city, Kayleigh noticed something was off about the guy — he was too consumed with work and with being on his phone rather than enjoying time with her.

“I love walking but he wanted to stay in the car on his phone,” she said. “Walking… that is my quality time — but he was working and going to the bar.” It ended up being a disappointment for Kayleigh that they couldn't make any real connection, but she expressed that she has no regrets about the trip.
Though dating didn't end up working out for the pair, the two have since become good friends. “We have decided just to stay friends, dating is evaluating, it is over time you get to know everyone,” she said. “We’re still in touch and we had a lot of fun but we have decided to be friends.”
The two have turned into travel buddies now, it seems. They are planning to travel through Europe together later this year.
On her TikTok account, Kayleigh posted photos from her time in San Francisco, highlighting the beautiful sights and delicious food. In the comments, she described her time there as a "great trip."
One user asked if there was another date planned, to which Kayleigh replied: "With this guy? No. Dating = evaluating and we are friends but not compatible! Set a standard for dates though ." Her TikTok is also full of videos where she gives advice and encouragement to single women.
In one post she shared an "unpopular fact" stating that men must always pay for dates. "If he can't afford to pay then he shouldn't be dating," she said, adding, "He is auditioning for a crucial role in your life that could lift you up or drag you down."
