It all started when Wanda LeBlanc, a professional photographer, took an at-home DNA test. While scrolling through the list of closest relatives who matched her DNA, Wanda spotted a name she didn't recognize at all: Lynne Wray.
Lynne's profile stated, "I was adopted and have never met my birth family."
Confused and intrigued, Wanda decided to reach out to Lynne — and quickly discovered Lynne was her biological aunt.
Lynne explained she'd been trying to track down her birth mother for years. All she knew was that her biological mom was born in North Carolina and was part Indian.
Wanda decided to speak to her mother and her grandmother, Elizabeth Pullen, about the discovery. That's when the truth finally emerged.

Elizabeth confessed she had placed a baby girl for adoption about 70 years before. Back then, adoption protocol typically prohibited mothers from seeing their babies after birth.
Wanda helped arrange for Elizabeth and Lynne to meet for the very first time in May 2019. She is hired to do "first look" photo shoots for many brides and grooms in her photography business, an idea she knew she could also apply to this mother-daughter reunion at Sugar Mill Pond in Youngsville, Louisiana.
