Girl Tells Park Cleaner She’s Waiting For Mom, The Next Day He Sees Her In The Same Spot

Albert was the custodian of a lovely Victorian park in the middle of the city. He took great pride in making sure that every inch of that park was pristine as he loved the thought of everyone, from families to happy couples with their pets, spending an hour or two taking in the beauty of his favorite green haven.

Part of Albert’s job was making sure that every garbage bin was properly emptied daily. He also made sure that the grounds were kept nice, as he made it his business to check in with the park’s gardening crew at least once or twice per week.

During his days in the park, Albert came to recognize many of the park’s frequent visitors. One afternoon, Albert spotted a little girl sitting on her own at one of the park’s picnic tables. He quickly looked around to see if he could spot an adult making their way back to her, but it appeared that she was by herself.

The little girl couldn’t have been older than 4 years old, so Albert approached her with caution as he didn’t want to frighten her. After he went up to the young girl and asked her how she was doing, she immediately told Albert that she wasn’t supposed to talk to strangers.

Albert was pleased to hear this, but he assured her that he just wanted to check on her and see where her parent or guardian was since she was by herself in a big park. The little girl told Albert that she was waiting for her mother, who would be back soon from a job interview across the road.

After he found out that the little girl’s name was Meg, he told her that he would keep an eye on her while he cleaned and to let him know if she needed anything before her mother came back.
