King Charles’ Sister Princess Anne Hospitalized With Concussion After ‘Incident’ At Home

On June 23, 2024, Princess Anne was injured in an "incident" at her country home in southwest England. The following day, Buckingham Palace issued a statement about it. Princess Anne suffered minor injuries and a concussion. She remains in the hospital for observation but is expected to make a full recovery.

Princess Anne changed her plans so she can recover. She was going to assist brother King Charles with the upcoming Japanese state visit. Japan's emperor and empress are coming on June 25. She was also supposed to travel to Canada. Instead, the Princess Royal will be taking it easy.

"The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening," the official statement began. "Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery." King Charles is following his sister's recovery. The whole extended royal family sends their love and well wishes.

While Buckingham Palace's statement does not specifically mention how the princess got injured, many believe it was because of a potential kick or head butt from a horse. Princess Anne's husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, and her two children, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, were at home at the time of the incident. Timothy accompanied his wife to the hospital.
