Mindy Kaling is the queen of secretly giving birth and surprising her fans with a whole baby. She has done it several times. Most recently, The Office alum announced she had welcomed her third child — all the way back in February 2024.
Mindy welcomed her first child, Katherine, in December 2017, followed by her son, Spencer, in September 2020. Although she prioritizes their privacy and keeps their faces off social media, the actress often shares photos of her kids from behind or uses digital stickers to cover their faces. But Mindy offered the first glimpse of her new baby girl, Anne, in her most recent Instagram update.

On July 4, Mindy took to Instagram with an update featuring photos and video clips of how she spent Independence Day with her three kids. The featured image was a selfie. But the third picture of her carousel shared a first glimpse of baby Anne's precious face.
Mindy shared in the caption, "A sandy/salty skin/no makeup/freezing cold perfect waves/lots of sunscreen/frosting/outside for hours kind of Independence Day."
That first glimpse of Anne's face was seriously sweet. But fans were even more smitten over a clip Mindy included in her Instagram update.
One person wrote of the video showing Anne grabbing Mindy's thumb, "Oh that sweet little bebe hand❤️."
Another Instagram user commented: "The little hand squeeze – honestly that is just the cutest! Your whole day looks magical! What lucky, lucky kids! ."
Someone else declared, "The little finger squeeze ."
On June 24, less than two weeks before the national holiday, Mindy revealed the existence of her younger daughter via Instagram.
"In late February I gave birth to my daughter, Anne. She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagined," the doting mom captioned a photo of her three kids snuggling on a blanket in the grass, a shot of Mindy pregnant, and a snap of Mindy sitting in a hospital bed with her older two kids.
"When things are hard, whenever I veer towards cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life," Mindy continued. "I’m so lucky I live in a place where I could do this by myself, on my own timeline. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!"
