Father Of Groom Goes Viral With Epic Musical Performance At His Son’s Wedding

Heartfelt and sometimes embarrassing things often happen at weddings and there’s usually not much you can do to stop them. When a family member stands up, determined to serenade the bride and groom, sometimes you just have to sit back and take the moment in.

When it comes time for the wedding speeches, they can go either way. You either find yourself looking at your watch waiting for it to be over with so you can finally eat some cake, or you’re brimming up with tears at all of the memories and good times being discussed.

When it came time for Bruce Miller, a pediatric ophthalmologist from Florida, to give his speech at his son’s wedding, he knew he needed to put his own spin on things — especially considering he comes from quite the musical family.

Today.com reports that Bruce’s son is professional musician Jake Miller, so the proud dad decided to "let his musical talents shine" in a "personalized parody" that he had practiced for a year before the wedding to make sure every verse was just right.

Bruce, 61, considers himself something of a "70s rock music junkie," so he took the song "Brandy" from the band Looking Glass — which worked out nicely because Jake’s now-wife is also named Brandi — and switched up the lyrics to a sweet rendition that described the couple’s love story.

Today.com reports that when the time came for the proud dad to stand up and sing his song to the happy couple, Bruce was "emotional" because he had just spent some time in the hospital due to a health issue, so he found himself feeling "overwhelmed and grateful" to even be there.

Jake Miller, the son that Bruce did all of this for, told Today.com that he wasn’t surprised by his father’s playful and sweet musical gesture because "that’s just who he is." Jake added that he "got into music" in the first place because his dad was always playing music around the house while he was growing up and he even taught him to play the drums.
