Mom Thought Burger King Messed Up Her Kid’s Order And Gave Her Ketchup, But It Was Blood

A mom on TikTok says she took her daughter to a Burger King in Western New York and found blood on her daughter's food. She explained that after receiving the bag of food, she handed it to her daughter, who later said, "Mom, I don't want ketchup."

Thinking that a Burger King employee had made a mistake and had given them food with ketchup instead of without, the mom took the bag from her daughter and looked at the food inside. What she found shocked her.

"I look in her bag and there is blood all over her bag, her toy, her fries, everything," the mom said on TikTok.

The mom decided to call the fast food restaurant. "I called Burger King because I was not gonna go back there," the mom said on TikTok. "And the manager had told me that somebody did cut his hand and that if I came back, he would give me a refund."

She also contacted her local health department. The mom, Tiffany Floyd, told People in an exclusive interview that the manager was "so nonchalant." Meanwhile, she was "livid."

A Burger King employee reportedly knew that he had cut his hand, but "did not think he was bleeding that bad," Tiffany told People based on her conversation with the manager.

She decided to speak about the incident on TikTok to raise awareness. "I just wanna get this out there because it was lunchtime today (July 26) and there was a lot of people through the drive-thru," she said. It happened at a Burger King on Millersport Highway in Getzville, New York.

"This is a serious, serious issue, and now I have to wait a whole month to get my daughter tested for any blood issues," the mom continued on TikTok.

Tiffany told People that her daughter, who is only 4 years old, is now too scared to eat because she's worried that her food could have blood in it.

"My daughter has not eaten since this and my anxiety is through the roof and what if my daughter needs professional help from this?" Tiffany said when speaking to the New York Post.

The 4-year-old girl had already eaten a few fries before her mom realized there was blood on the food, reported WKBW. The young girl needs to have her blood tested monthly for a year because of the incident, according to the outlet.

In a statement shared with the New York Post, Burger King said that the restaurant has "been in contact with the Guest and are working with her to resolve this incident."

"This incident was the result of a team member in the restaurant who injured his finger, and upon noticing immediately stepped away. We closed the restaurant to retrain all the team members and hired an external company to complete a deep cleaning," the statement said. That particular Burger King location was temporarily shut down because of the incident, the statement said.

TikTok users were horrified by the mom's story.

"That's terrifying! ," one person commented. "I'm not particularly a huge germaphobe over most things, but this would send me into a blind panic."

"Omg imagine if the baby did in fact like ketchup?!?!??!! ," another TikTok user reacted.

"This is horrifying i’m so sorry, i hope your girl is okay," someone else wrote.
