Kate Middleton Makes First Public Appearance Since Finishing Her Chemotherapy Treatment

The world was shocked when Kate Middleton announced she had been diagnosed with cancer. Since then, the Princess of Wales has made limited public appearances. Much to the delight of royal fans, she recently stepped out for the first time since completing her chemotherapy treatment.

To recap, the Princess of Wales shared her unspecified cancer diagnosis in March. The news came on the heels of her father-in-law, King Charles III, announcing he had cancer. Fast-forward to early September and Kate revealed she was officially in remission.

On September 22, 2024, Kate stepped out in public for the first time since completing chemotherapy. The royal was accompanied by her husband and other members of the royal family, People reported. They attended a service at Crathie Kirk Church near Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

Kate was photographed in the passenger seat of a car while William drove. In the snaps, the Princess of Wales wore a brown plaid coat and a dark green hat with feathers, and the Prince of Wales wore a suit. King Charles and Queen Camilla also attended the service but arrived in separate vehicles.

On September 9, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a video message on their social media accounts with a health update on Kate. The 42-year-old royal shared she had finished chemotherapy and that "doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus."

"The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family," Kate added, describing her cancer journey as "complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you."

"With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything," Kate continued in the video. "Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.”

On September 17, The Telegraph reported that Kate officially resumed work. The Princess of Wales reportedly met with her Centre for Early Childhood team members and Kensington Palace staff at Windsor Castle to discuss her early years childhood project. However, no photos were shared from the meeting.
