Kate Middleton has shared a health update for the first time since she made an announcement about her cancer diagnosis in March. On March 22, the Princess of Wales revealed that cancer was found after she had surgery in January. At the time, she did not share what type of cancer she was diagnosed with, but said the diagnosis came as a "huge shock." "William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family," Kate, 42, shared at the time.
On June 14, Kate said she is "making good progress."
"I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days," Kate shared in an Instagram post.
The rare update comes just before she is expected to make a public appearance at King Charles’s birthday parade on Saturday, June 15. In her post, Kate confirmed that she will be at the Trooping the Colour ceremony.

In her update, Kate explained the difference between "bad days" and "good days." "On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well," she shared.
On the good days, she is able to do some of the things she enjoys, like "engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home."
Although she is "not out of the woods yet," she hopes that she will be able to participate in more public engagements in the near future.
"I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet," she wrote.
In her post, she also thanked everyone who has supported her, in addition to "all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me."
"I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months," she added.
The support "really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times," she said in the post.
As her treatment continues, she is trying to remain positive and "patient."
"I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal," she wrote in the update.
