There are plenty of scary things going on in the real world right now. Just turn on the news. But in case you’re looking for something else to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, look no further than this image of a group of six friends hiking in Chile.
At first glance, the picture seems to show six friends smiling happily at the camera. But if you look a little closer, there is something a bit more sinister lurking in the shadows.

A Redditor shared an image of his friends.
The image of the six friends made its way to Reddit where the original poster asked users to use their powers of observation to see if they could spot a seventh face. Apologies if you don’t like to be scared. But now that you’re here, go ahead and search for that face. Be warned: It will give you the creeps.

Here’s where to look.
In case you don’t see it, here’s a hint: The face is in between the two women on the left side. Right in between their faces. Get close to get a good view. Yikes! The seventh face looks like something out of The Ring — or The Exorcist if you want to keep it old school. Either way, it’s clear, seemingly paranormal, and disturbing.
People were freaked out.
Unlike many of these types of images, several people have been able to see it. And they can’t reason away with manipulated shapes or lighting. They responded sharing their weirded-out-ness.
“I was like, ‘those are just people behiOH MY GOD,’” one user wrote.
“My stomach dropped,” another commented.
Someone mentioned that ghost pictures have changed.
Someone questioned this type of ghost. “The problem with these ‘next gen’ ghost photos is that ghosts suddenly seem to like pulling their best modern horror movie scary face with their highly detailed green skinned ghoul face,” they wrote. “Traditionally ghost photos (the ones considered genuine) are ethereal, translucent and otherworldly. When it’s a recognisable face it’s just the face of someone where they shouldn’t be, seen in a way that appears like they are peering in from another world. Photos like this are just some highly detailed ‘scary face.jpeg’ appearing to be wedged in somewhere convenient.”
The person went on to explain: “So either ghosts are evolving and putting on makeup and posing to look more like the modern horror movies we enjoy or people are trying to make scary ghost photos that look like their idea of a scary ghost from horror movie X …”
Well, we’re not sure if this is edited or not, but we are definitely sure it’s spooky.
