Megyn Kelly Insists She’s ‘Really Glad’ She Didn’t Run Into Taylor Swift At The Super Bowl

President Donald Trump’s messages about Taylor Swift after the Super Bowl have led some Swifties to wonder why Trump seemed so “obsessed” with her. During the big game, Taylor was booed when she was shown on the Jumbotron, and after Trump took to social media to mock her, conservative media personality Megyn Kelly seems to be joining in by posting about Taylor multiple times and talking about her on her show.

On The Megyn Kelly Show, Megyn, who also attended the Super Bowl, said she almost ran into Taylor at the game. The political commentator managed to dodge this awkward encounter though, and she said she was “really glad” that she did.

On her show, Megyn explained that she and Taylor seemingly went to the bathroom around the same time. “I walk out of the box — the suite — and there is the lady in the dress that signifies this is the women’s room,” Megyn explained. Because there was a woman standing near the bathroom door, she asked her if she was standing in line. “And she’s like, ‘No,’” Megyn continued. “So I’m like, ‘Oh, OK.’ So I go to get past her, and she’s like, ‘Oh no, I think someone’s in there.'”

Based on what happened next, Megyn assumed that Taylor Swift was that “someone.” “There was something unclear about what she said so I tried to go past her and then I pressed down the doorknob and it started to open and I heard like, ‘Ahhh,’ and then she was like, ‘Oh no, no!’” Megyn said.

Megyn came to the conclusion that “Taylor Swift was clearly in there” and “this was like a privacy guard for her.” She told her viewers that she “almost walked in on Taylor Swift in the bathroom,” adding that she was “really glad that didn’t happen.”

While Megyn said that she was “really glad” that she didn’t have to interact with Taylor at the game, she did post about Taylor on social media. On Sunday, February 9, Megyn shared a selfie that she took with Trump from the game, including a caption with a subtle dig at Taylor.

“Saw Taylor Swift in the next box … eh … and then I spent time with a true winner. Thank you Mr. President!” Megyn captioned the post.

This was not Megyn’s only Instagram post about Taylor Swift that day. “Taylor Swift next to us at the Super Bowl — should I go strike up a chat on Trump, Tim Walz and Blake Lively v Baldoni?” she captioned another post.

On her show, Megyn referenced Trump’s Truth Social posts about Taylor. She said that Trump was right — that Taylor really was the “biggest loser” at the Super Bowl.

After the game, Trump took to his social media platform to mock Taylor. “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift,” he wrote. “She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”
