Kid Rock has just revealed whom he hopes will be president of the United States when Donald Trump’s second term comes to an end.
Speaking on conservative political commentator Glenn Beck’s podcast over the weekend, Rock was asked by Beck what the world will look like at the end of four years.
“Hopefully a President JD Vance,” Rock replied. “Hopefully to me, that’s what it looks like.”
Rock added that he wants to try and help unite the country, and one way he wants to do it is by taking a longtime Trump critic to the White House to meet the president.
“I’m actually going to try to unite this country and starting the end of the month, I’m taking Bill Maher to the White House for dinner,” Rock told Beck.
Maher, a comedian and actor, is the host of Real Time on MAX, which features mostly political guests and discussions with comedy mixed in.
Maher has been a staunch Trump critic on his show and Rock say he wants the two to meet.
“This guy has done nothing but talk smack about the president since day one,” Rock added. “But he’s a comedian, too, and I can have conversations with him. We can find common ground.”
“He’s actually more reasonable than a lot of people on the right would think. I was doing his podcast and I said if I can hook you guys up, what would it say to this country? Let’s start at the top where very public figures and the president of the free world could just break bread, have some laughs, take a picture and be like, hey, you know we don’t agree on everything, but we got along.”
Rock says he wonders whether that might start to send a message to people and maybe they’d call that family member they got into an argument over politics with, for instance, and reconcile.
Rock appeared on Real Time in February and said there might be one thing he might have an issue with when it comes to Trump: A third term.
“If he says, ‘I’m running for a third term,’ I’d be like, ‘Whoa, whoa, pump the brakes man. Hold on a second. It would be very tough. Very, very tough.”
Rock, who also said he went golfing with Trump a couple weekends ago and Elon Musk hung out with them, made news last month after video showed him storming off the stage while singing a song at Bon Jovi keyboardist, David Bryan’s, birthday bash after he didn’t like how fans were clapping.
Rock is also rumored to be dating Congresswoman Lauren Boebert who neither confirmed nor denied the rumor when asked about it by TMZ.
Rock is about to go on a short tour with Chris Janson opening in some cities and Uncle Kracker opening in others.
The tour takes him to Omaha in March, along with Minneapolis, Louisville, Milwaukee, Oklahoma City, Wichita, and Kansas City.
He is also bringing a two-day music festival to 10 small cities, including Hastings, Michigan, with Nickelback, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Travis Tritt, Big and Rich, and more.
