Lauren Boebert Stuns GOP By Refusing To Back Down To Trump On Epstein Files

Recently, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who was once thought to be a MAGA loyalist, has made headlines for diverging from President Donald Trump. And she’s not the only one. Another MAGA loyalist, Lauren Boebert, unexpectedly went against Trump. For both women, there seems to be a key reason for the sudden shift: the Epstein files.

Greene confirmed this when speaking to CNN’s Dana Bash on Sunday, November 16.

“I believe the country deserves transparency in these files, and I don’t believe that rich, powerful people should be protected if they have done anything wrong,” she said.

“I have no idea what’s in the files. I can’t even guess. But that is the question everyone is asking is why fight this so hard?”

Greene made it clear that she still supports Trump “and his administration,” but when it comes to the Epstein files, she has not backed down. Last week, Greene and Boebert were among the four Republicans that signed a petition to force vote on releasing the documents from the Jeffrey Epstein case.

Trump administration officials reportedly tried to pressure Boebert to remove her name from the petition, but she did not.

Though her social media posts make it clear that she still generally supports Trump, one cryptic post has garnered a lot of attention.

After she was reportedly pressured by the Trump administration to remove her signature, she took to X to share a video that praised her for standing up for what’s right in this case.

In the video that Boebert shared, Kyle Clark of 9News said Boebert “did a brave thing.” Though Trump seemingly “directly pressured Boebert,” he said, she “did defy the president…and stood firm against the wishes of her party and her president.”

Clark went on to say that the Epstein files issue is not “political,” but is instead a “basic” issue that everyone should be able to agree on: The idea that “pedophiles don’t deserve protection.” Boebert shared the clip without any commentary.

Instead, she simply added an 👀 emoji.

Initially, after House Democrats released a few Epstein emails that mentioned Trump, the president took to social media to call the whole thing a “hoax” and to criticize the Republicans who sided with the Democrats.

“The Democrats are trying to bring up the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax again because they’ll do anything at all to deflect on how badly they’ve done on the Shutdown, and so many other subjects. Only a very bad, or stupid, Republican would fall into that trap,” he wrote.

However, it now seems like the pressure has gotten to him.

On Sunday, Trump surprised people by urging Republicans to vote to release the Epstein files. “House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide, and it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax,” he wrote.

“I DON’T CARE! All I do care about is that Republicans get BACK ON POINT.”
