Donald Trump Jr. Says He Married His ‘Forever’ & People Are Mocking Him

About a week after his wedding ceremony and celebration in the Bahamas, Donald Trump Jr. took to social media in an attempt to share a romantic post about marrying his now-wife, Bettina Anderson. And people are mocking him for it. The caption he wrote to accompany the video he posted was just a few sentences long, and yet, critics had a lot to say.

Don Jr.’s post was similar to what a lot of people say about their partners: She’s my best friend, and we’ll be together forever. Let’s just say critics have some doubts about that, though.

In the caption, Don Jr. wrote about being with Bettina “forever.”

But to critics, this sounded like a pretty bold claim, given that he’s already been married before and was engaged just before he decided to marry Bettina. He was married to his first wife, Vanessa Trump, for 12 years. She filed for divorce in 2018. That same year, he started dating Kimberly Guilfoyle, who he was in a relationship with for six years and engaged to for nearly four years.

They separated in 2024, and Don Jr. started dating Bettina that same year. He and Bettina were engaged by 2025. In his caption, he described Bettina as “My wife. My heart. My forever.” And a lot of critics in the comments were like, uhh, did you say the same about Vanessa and Kimberly as well?

People are clearly skeptical.

“Best friend?” one person questioned in the comments on Instagram. “You were just dating that other chick not too long ago. Come on man.”

“You say that the previous 3 times too?” another critic commented. And someone else wrote, “Wow, dating Kimberly for 6 years didn’t make her your forever but 2 years and jumping into the marriage with your best friend now really makes sense.”

So, yeah, not everyone found the post all that romantic. Critics also had questions about the “forever” claim, perhaps due to Don Jr.’s track record. One of them simply wrote, “Forever huh?”

And, of course, there’s also the fact that Don Jr.’s dad missed the whole thing.

Aside from addressing his wife and “best friend” in the post, Don Jr. also acknowledged the family members who were present for the special occasion (so, not his father). “Bettina, you have brought so much peace, joy, and light into my life,” he wrote. “Standing beside you, surrounded by our siblings, your mom, Donnie, and Kai, I have never felt more grateful or more certain of anything.”

In response, one critic wrote, “And your dad didn’t even show up. Love that.” Prior to the wedding celebration, a reporter asked President Donald Trump whether he’d be attending. He said that his son wanted him there, but acted like he had more pressing concerns to worry about. “I said, ‘You know, this is not good timing for me. I have a thing called Iran and other things.'”

Later, when he officially announced he would not be attending, he reframed his excuse and said, “While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so.”
