In late May and early June 2026, Donald Trump seemed to take a break from public appearances. As the sitting president, and someone who seems to love attention, it was a strange move. During that time, he continued to post on Truth Social, though, so he was still around, just not visible for the American people. Then, on June 4, he appeared in a second meeting in the Oval Office after his first appearance in days came the day before. But in a video posted on X, Trump seems to doze off once again.
It’s almost like they pulled him out of whatever rest he was having so they could prove he’s fine, only for it to be too much for him. Of course, that’s just speculation, but the speculation is quite strong when it comes to Trump. Especially when he seems to legitimately pass out during a live recorded meeting at the White House.

In the video posted on X, Trump sits at his desk in the Oval Office as some of his colleagues stand behind him and speak to the press. The day before this little snippet, Trump showed up on-camera in the Oval Office to sign some executive orders. But that might have been too much for the aging president, coupled with the live appearance the next day.
Because, in the June 4 clip, he seems to have dozed off. Like, literally, he is asleep in his chair, slumped over. No one checks on him while the cameras are rolling, of course. And most MAGA supporters will tell you that it’s not what it looks like. He’s a busy man planning America’s biggest UFC fight in history, after all. But it’s concerning for most.
Someone commented on the X post with, “Remember when MAGA spent years obsessing over every yawn, stumble, and pause from Biden? Funny how the concern about alertness disappears when it’s their guy.”
Another joked, “Me in the meeting before lunch, when my blood sugar gets low.”
Some joked that it’s like the movie ‘Weekend at Bernie’s.’

Other people on X shared memes to joke that the situation is akin to the movie Weekend at Bernie’s, where two friends have to pretend like their deceased boss is still alive in order to party at his beach house. In this comparison, Trump would be Bernie, and his “friends” would be the other White House officials desperate to make sure everyone thinks this is fine, we’re fine, it’s all totally fine.
Some X users also added clips to show that Trump did open his eyes at one point. Yeah, that’s standard for when someone dozes off and on, or when they wake up. Because the video shows someone actually sleeping, and it’s hard to deny that, however you look at it.
“Trump’s literally catching Z’s because he couldn’t care about coal subsidies,” an X user commented. “He’s probably thinking: Why am I stuck listening to this petty garbage? I’m a war president, people! Let’s talk about the Middle East and how we can milk them for cash. Uh,coal subsidies?! Brb napping.”
People speculated on why he hadn’t been seen in public.
Before Trump made his first public appearance in about a week on June 3 and then this one on June 4, there was massive speculation about his health. As far as some people are concerned, there is a cover-up happening, and Trump’s health is a big part of it. No one connected to the White House has shared that to be true, of course. But with Trump continuing to be caught dozing off or even napping on-camera, it doesn’t help with the rumors.
