Jenna Johnson, a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars, recently shared a video that showed her and her three-year-old son dancing together. But instead of commenting on the cute mother-son moment, a lot of fans seemed more preoccupied with the toddler’s haircut, for some reason. And Jenna is clearly tired of it.
After fans left comments on her social media pages telling her that she should consider finding a new barber for her son, Jenna addressed the backlash and told people to stop commenting on her child’s hair because it’s “weird.”
Jenna’s son has a mullet.
And apparently, that really bothers some people who follow her on social media. Jenna, 32, and her husband, Dancing with the Stars professional dancer Valentin “Val” Chmerkovskiy, welcomed their son, Rome, in January 2023. Since then, Jenna has shared quite a few photos and videos of Rome on social media, and for some reason, people have a lot to say about his current hairstyle.
On June 3, Jenna posted a video of them dancing together and captioned it with, “His first SCUBA 🥹😂😍 Not sure whether I should be ecstatic or mortified lollll.”
And people decided to share their thoughts on the toddler’s haircut. “He has the cutest face, his haircut makes him look so much older 😔” one person wrote on Instagram. “What is up with the mullet?” someone else commented. “He is way too cute for that.”
Jenna has also faced backlash on TikTok.

She shared the same video there, and people, once again, focused on her son’s hair. “he is absolutely adorable, but please get him to a good barber,” someone commented. And another person said, “Omg , he is cute but the haircut gotta go.”
Who knew that a toddler’s haircut would be so controversial? Some people responded to comments like these, calling the commenters out for criticizing a toddler’s appearance. One person left a comment to point out that it’s “actually gross so many people commenting negatively on a TODDLERS haircut. They added that “there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, he looks so cute and at that age they LOVE getting to do cool stuff like having a sweet mullet.”
“Commenting on a child’s appearance is weird,” someone else added.
The professional dancer also addressed the haters.

Because there were actually enough complaints about the toddler’s haircut that she felt compelled to address it. She told the commenters to stop sharing their opinions about her child’s hair, as she really doesn’t care how they feel about it. After all, Rome is her kid, so she’s really not all that concerned about what people on the internet think about his haircut.
“Some of y’all are weird, commenting on my child’s hair,” Jenna said in response to the backlash. “I do not care what you think about his hair.”
When addressing the critics, Jenna made it clear that she doesn’t want to see any additional comments about her toddler’s haircut. She continued, “He is my kid, and not yours. Stop commenting on his hair. It’s just… we’re done with this. And if it really bothers you that much, just please unfollow me.”
