When Kathleen and Adam decided to try for one more baby, they ended up with another set of twins. The couple, who have chosen to withhold their last name for privacy reasons, already had two sets of twins. Now they are the proud parents of six children under the age of 8. Having three sets of twins is extremely rare, with the odds of it occurring being 1 in 614,125. You can follow their journey on their website and social media channels under the moniker Half a Dozen Twins.
The original twins, James and Julia, are 7 years old. They were joined by Mikey and Marie, who are 5. Completing the family of eight are 2-year-old twins Luke and Leo. Kathleen recently spoke to Today and gave some time-saving tips for large families.
“I'm not going to lie — going from four to six was really hard,” Kathleen shared. One of the ways she makes it easier on herself is having a robotic vacuum. “We turn it on at night and I don’t have to think about it,” she explained.
Another way she sets her family up for success is by only giving her children two options when they eat out. That way, they do not get overwhelmed by the menu. Often, everyone decides what they want to eat in the car before they even enter the restaurant.

Another life hack is having a dedicated laundry basket for each room in the house. “I used to put all their dirty clothes in one basket and I spent so much time sorting,” Kathleen explained. “Now I just do a load and it goes right back to the room.
“I don’t even fold,” she admitted. “I just make sure it’s right side out and put it in the drawer. I love folding, it’s very pretty, but I just don’t have the time.”
Kathleen believes all the chaos is worth it. Her children’s happiness means the world to her. "I love watching all of them interact with each other," she gushed. "They have an unbreakable bond."
