Alix Earle Addresses The MAGA Allegations That Have Plagued Her For Years

For years, people have been accusing influencer Alix Earle of supporting President Donald Trump, even though she has not outright spoken up in support of him. There are several reasons these rumors have persisted. People have pointed to the fact that Alix follows Ivanka Trump on Instagram and was once photographed with her. They also found that she previously shared a photo of a Trump flag on social media, which admittedly does make it seem like she supports Trump.

However, it’s possible that her views have changed—but she doesn’t explain herself every time people accuse her of supporting Trump’s MAGA movement because, well, it happens to her quite often.

She recently addressed the rumors about her politics.

While she didn’t say a ton on the subject, the comments she made as part of a feature for the Time 100 Creators make it sound like she doesn’t actually align with MAGA. And even though she’s said that before, the rumors just won’t go away.

“I have addressed it, and I just don’t think anyone listens,” the 25-year-old influencer told Time.

She explained, “My senior year of college I was like, ‘I am not a Trump supporter.’ I don’t personally support him. I get a lot of questions about that online still. I just tend to not address it every single time because then I feel like I am creating a massive storm.”

Apparently, this is not enough to dispel the rumors.

Perhaps some people think Alix could do more to distance herself from MAGA. It’s a topic that’s come up in online discussions about her politics. “I just assume anyone with status is MAGA until they explicitly say they’re not AND condemn the actions this administration is doing,” one person wrote on Reddit.

In another thread, someone urged Alix to use her platform to speak out against the Trump administration’s actions. People questioned why she would do that because they assumed she had no issue with the current administration. “Isn’t she a supporter of the current president?” a commenter wrote. “I don’t get why u expect ppl who are trump supporters and maga to speak out,” someone else said. “Ofc they aren’t going to, they support these disgusting things.”

And another person added, “She won’t speak because she is friends with Ivanka and has posted support for Trump including a flag.”

Alix previously admitted that she used to support the president.

She grew up surrounded by people who supported him, and she didn’t question it. “My family is Republican – my whole town, everyone, is Republican – my whole high school,” she said in a video in 2022, per The Mirror. “I literally didn’t know anything else … I’ve gone along with my parents’ beliefs.”

And yes, a Trump flag really did appear in her posts at one point. But she said that the old post does not reflect her current views. “At the time, I was like, ‘yeah, go Trump,'” she explained. “But what did I really know? Nothing, obviously.”

As for how her beliefs shifted? “I think that Trump is an idiot,” she said. Some people who follow Alix still seem hung up on the fact that she once supported Trump, but others don’t see it as an issue.

“She obtained new information and changed her mind…. which is something that we can only hope that all of MAGA does,” one Redditor wrote in her defense.
