Over the past several months, people have been noticing that women in President Donald Trump’s circle have been embracing a pretty distinct look. It’s gotten to be so popular among those close to Trump that there’s even a name for it: Mar-a-Lago face. Apparently, some conservative women have even taken classes to learn how to achieve this particular aesthetic (in spite of all the mockery online).
Now, because of the way she looked at a recent event, Taylor Swift is facing MAGA allegations.
To be fair, a lot of people thought Swift looked absolutely stunning and ethereal.

When photos and videos of her arriving at the Academy Museum Gala started popping up online, commenters compared her to Cinderella or actual royalty. There were also critics, however, who compared her to the women in Trump’s circle—even though her makeup looked quite minimalistic compared to the traditional Mar-a-Lago look.
On X, one person argued that Swift’s makeup looked “more maga than ever.” Meanwhile, someone else wrote “Maralago face coming in hot” after seeing the footage of Swift at the event.
It’s actually not the first time she has faced MAGA allegations.
So, some of her fans actually argued that people only associated her makeup with MAGA because she was the one wearing it. In recent months, some of the pop star’s critics have been pointing to signs that she is secretly conservative. Much of this has stemmed from the people she chooses to spend time with, such as Brittany Mahomes, who has faced MAGA allegations herself because she actually appeared to “like” one of Trump’s posts in 2024.
Aside from this, people have also criticized Swift for not speaking up enough about politics. To some of her fans, Swift is a far cry from someone who is “secretly conservative” or MAGA. But at the same time, some of her critics feel she’s been a little too quiet lately.
But Trump does not appear to like Swift or think she’s MAGA.

Regardless of how you feel about her makeup, Swift has historically supported Democrats. In 2024, she decided to officially endorse former vice president Kamala Harris for president shortly after Trump shared AI-generated images that suggested she supported him.
“Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “…It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth. I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.”
This announcement from the pop star seemingly led to Trump crashing out. On Fox & Friends, he asserted that he was “not a Taylor Swift fan.” Then, days later, he randomly took to Truth Social to write, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
Many months later, he continued to seem bothered by this situation. One day, in May 2025, he for some reason felt compelled to go on Truth Social and write, “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?'”
