There are some topics that should be avoided completely. While it is tempting to say politics, a more accurate answer would be someone’s personal appearance. You never truly know what a person is going through, so it's best to steer clear.
Public figures’ looks are constantly being critiqued. Ariana Grande just took this issue head on. Ariana recently posted a message to her fans on TikTok addressing rumors about her weight. She does not normally do this but felt strongly about the issue. Her health and weight are nobody's business but her own.
Ariana was not afraid to gently put her fans in their place. “I just wanted to address your concerns about my body and talk a little bit about what it means to a person with a body and to be seen…to be paid this close attention to. I think we should be gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies, no matter what,” she began.
She wants people to know that what is healthy varies widely for every person. “I know, personally for me, the body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body,” she explained. “I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy. But, that in fact wasn’t my healthy.”

She shared this in hopes of helping others. She wants people to know that even if they “are coming from a loving or caring place,” it is not OK to comment on a person’s weight, health, or appearance. “You never know” what is really going on. She reminded fans to be good to themselves and others.
“I think you’re beautiful no matter what you’re going through,” she concluded.
