Arnold Schwarzenegger recently opened up about his divorce and the role he played in it. The actor's honesty came forth in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. The 75-year-old admitted to his failures that led up to Maria Shriver filing for divorce.
Arnold and Maria married in 1986. They were together for 25 years before Maria filed for divorce in 2011.
The pair share four kids: two daughters, ages 33 and 31, and two sons, ages 29 and 25.

The divorce was assumed to be caused by Arnold's unfaithfulness. It was brought to light that during his marriage he'd had an affair with his housekeeper, who got pregnant. Their child, Joseph Baena, is now 25 years old.
"It was my failure,” Arnold shared in regard to his divorce. Although he doesn't miss being married, the divorce was very difficult for him at the beginning.
Surprisingly, though, it took a little over 10 years for the divorce petition to be finalized. Their divorce was finally settled in 2021.
Maria, a journalist and author, made an appearance on the Making Space With Hoda Kotb podcast back in February. There, she discussed how she handled the divorce, saying that she began feeling like she "had the freedom or permission" to be herself upon filing for the divorce.
"I had personal setbacks, but this was, without any doubt, the biggest setback and the biggest failure," Arnold shared some years back in regard to the divorce. "Without any doubt. Not only failure, but you feel like, 'I'm to blame for it. It was me that screwed up.' And you can't point the finger at anyone else."
Arnold is now dating physical therapist Heather Milligan. Maria has been speculated to have something going on with American political analyst Matthew Dowd.
