Bill Maher seemed to hint that the people he dates tend to be much younger than he is during a recent appearance on The Skinny Confidential’s Him & Her podcast. When talking about marriage and dating, 68-year-old Bill said he’s not interested in finding a partner — but also revealed that his “dating is not age-appropriate.” The Real Time With Bill Maher host, who also has his own podcast called Club Random, admitted that his relationships are unconventional, but said he doesn’t care what other people think.
When asked what a woman should do to “get [Bill’s] attention,” he said, “I’m not looking. I’m good.” In spite of his general disinterest, he went on to imply that he does date people — just not people around his age.
“Nothing that I could have predicted when I was your age came to pass,” he explained to podcast hosts Michael Bosstick and Lauryn Evarts Bosstick. “Like I would never have imagined that at this age, anyone — and again, like I’ll say this just generally — my dating is not age-appropriate.”
Seeking clarification — and presumably trying to confirm that Bill was talking about dating legal adults who are younger than he is — Michael asked, “Age-appropriate meaning you’re dating women that would be perceived in an unorthodox context, younger than what you should be dating?”
Bill laughed. “Not just perceived, they literally are,” he said.

Just to be a hundred percent clear, Michael followed up with, “But legal?” Bill said, “Of course,” but acknowledged that some people would probably still be upset by his confession.
“To the people who are p—ed off at that, f— you,” Bill said, addressing the hypothetical haters. “You do you. I do me. You do what works for you.”
The confession comes just after Bill was spotted with Noor Alfallah, Al Pacino’s much-younger ex-girlfriend. Al, 84, and Noor, 30, welcomed a child together in June 2023. Now, Noor, who works as a producer, says that she and Al are just friends. However, she said the exact same thing about Bill Maher when speaking to TMZ.
Noor and Bill were photographed together earlier in October, but Noor told TMZ: “Bill’s my friend, just my friend.”
“He’s great though, but we are just friends,” she added. Asked about her relationship with Al, Noor said they’re no longer in a romantic relationship, but he’s her “best friend.”
Though Bill did not share any additional details about his dating life while on the podcast, he talked about his decision to not get married. Lauryn asked Bill: “What would happen if someone married [him],” and he responded, “It would ruin everything. I mean, I’m not going to. I love to talk about this subject, but it’s tough because I also don’t really ever want to divulge the details of my own personal life. So it’s tough to do it.”
He went on to explain that he doesn’t think people would really understand his views. He’s happy being single, he said. “It sure works for me. You have to find what works for you,” he said, adding that “a lot of people get married because it’s the thing to do.”
“It certainly was in my head for way too long, that you find ‘the one,’ like it’s an Easter egg hunt,” he said. “And you find the egg and then everything’s perfect. And that’s certainly not the way I’ve ever seen life work. And it didn’t work for me.”
Without sharing too many details about why marriage is not for him, Bill explained that he often hears the same answers when he asks married couples about their marriages: they say “it’s tough” or “it’s a lot of work.”
“And I’m like, ‘I don’t want to work,'” Bill explained.
